In a dusty basement, a ratty programmer tinkers away at an android she had managed to scrounge up from the dump.  A model this old is barely worth the parts it was made out of nowadays. They don't even have the necessary chips to be able to run a self-conscious schematic that the government always is getting up in arms about.

It's a good thing Lydia doesn't care about any of that. Limitations are meant to be overcome, after all. With just a bit of elbow grease and know-how, this tin can is going to behave exactly how she wants it to.
